Infertility can be a distressing topic for many. It was like that for us, too. Having suffered infertility and being childless for more than 6 years, we were on the brink of giving up when this miracle happened.
I have read several success stories and reviews about how The Hive Fertility has helped many people become parents. However, I was still skeptical about it since I had already undergone numerous IVF cycles in other hospitals, and they weren’t able to help me.
I never knew I was going to be proved wrong here, blissfully so. I’m Radha, and my husband’s name is Purushothaman. This is the story of one of our best experiences of our life that we will never be able to forget.
Introduction: Infertility Diagnosis And Our Search For A Way Out
My husband and I got married only in our late 20s. We are both in our 30s now, and we have been trying for 6 years to get pregnant with no results. After our first year of marriage, we realized that we could not get pregnant no matter how hard we tried.
That is when we went for our first fertility consultation. We first went to consult a fertility doctor in our locality. They tested me and concluded that I have some issues in my uterus that make embryo implantation difficult.
It was heartbreaking news for us, but we had hope and believed that with proper treatments, we could achieve pregnancy. One cycle passed, two cycles passed, but I couldn’t get pregnant.
Our doctor also felt that the current treatment method wouldn’t help me and suggested we consult more experienced fertility doctors in cities like Chennai, where there will be advanced technologies to assist with the procedure.
This was when we learned about The Hive Fertility and Women’s Centre. Our doctor recommended we try this fertility centre. We were not that hopeful, but we wanted to give it a try.
Our Experience At The Hive Fertility
We were nervous when we first visited the hospital. After all, we have undergone multiple IVF cycles with no results. However, the doctors and other faculty there were so supportive and empathetic of our situation.
We consulted Dr. Rukkayal for our IVF treatment. She did a thorough checkup on us again to clearly understand what the problem was. The issue I had with my uterus seems to have improved a lot since my treatments.
However, to ensure we have a higher chance of success, she recommended we use 2 embryos during embryo transfer. All my previous IVF cycles included transferring only 1 embryo, so we decided to transfer two embryos to see how it goes.
I had to undergo the IVF procedure all over again, starting with the IVF injections. It was tiring, but my hope was renewed, and I was willing to try anything to have my own baby.
Like this, the entire IVF process went on, and our embryo transfer was completed using two embryos. You know the saying? There is one thing more stressful than the IVF procedure, and that is the period after embryo transfer, where you have to wait for 2 weeks to know your pregnancy results.
Trust me, this mixed surge of hope and anxiety was not an easy thing to manage. Finally, 2 weeks passed, and I could take a pregnancy test to see my results.
I was very fearful and was not willing to do it. But my husband and family were so supportive and encouraged me to do the test.
And guess what? I got a positive result. Thank God!!!
But not so fast. I wasn’t ready to put all my beliefs on a pregnancy test kit only to be betrayed later. So we immediately visited our doctor and told her the results. She did a blood pregnancy test and confirmed that I was pregnant.
It did not end there. Throughout the course of my pregnancy and for a few months after my delivery, the doctors and staff at The Hive stayed with me and guided me with every doubt and concern I had.
